  1. One of my pedals seems to really work against me when trying to clip out.
The right one releases beautifully, the left one I really have to over-twist
to get a release. Won't be long till I hit a tight spot and this really
    messes me up.

I've examined the cleats - they are tight and seem to be shaped the same -
ie. no obvious deformities in the left cleat that I can see. Can't see the
inner workings of the pedal. I figure most folks have a right or left
"footedness" that makes one foot more agile, but I've really concentrated on
trying to twist out in the same way (angle, level, force) on both feet.

Anybody got hints for getting the left pedal to release better? Is this a
pedal, cleat, or rider issue (be kind, pls)?

  2. er, the title should read "atac", and would if my brain and fingers were
    connected...

This might be a stupid question, but are the fore/aft setting on the cleats the
same? I use Atac's also, and when I bought Diadora Geko's (they have that
aggressive tread) I found that the fore/aft position is important. The tread
would interfere with the pedal's bail.

Also, which leg is your strong leg? Barring a defective pedal, it's possible that
you may just have weak abductors in your left leg, IMHO.

Shave the cleat on the shoe that is causing you the problem. It allows you
to release from the pedal with less effort.
