  1. I was at a rather noisy large party on Saturday and had to
raise my voice to talk. Everytime I did my throat (right
side) would go into what I would call a spasm. Coughing
uncontrolable, then hoarseness. This is not the first time
this has happened it just seems to have been the worst. It
is now Tuesday and I still have a funny sensation on the
right side any ideas what causes this. I am not even sure if
    I should see a Dr.

I am not looking for someone to diagnois I am just looking
    for some information.

    Thanks, Damian

Yep, you should see a doctor.

    In particular, see Table 1.

  3. Thanks for the link-While I was reading the information I
remembered that about 15 years ago I had a bout of atypical
trigeminal nerve pain. I had a lot of pain in the roof of my
mouth and teeth that lasted for years. I took dilantin for
about 6 years and have been relatively pain free since about
1992. That spasm feeling use to happen then but the dilantin
help control that also. Thanks again I probable would have
put the two together but not for a while. The only thing
they could point to at that time was I had had dental work
and that triggered the pain. They never found any tumors or
anything structual wrong. I will keep an eye on how often it
happens and if it looks like it is increasing I will call my
    neurologist.

Thanks again for that link. Damian
