  1. I'm in the market for touring racks. The Thorn line looks very strong
and well made. But being on this side of the pond I'd have to pay a
bit more for them. Does anyone have experience with Thorn racks?
Would you recommend them? I'm also considering Nitto racks as well. I
    welcome your thoughts and opinions.

    I don't have one (I have Blackburn EX1 and MTN1 racks) but I've heard
that the black paint can flake off the Thorn rack, which eventually
leads to rust (it is steel, after all). It depends what you want to
carry and where you're going, I suppose; for trips in developed
countries with bike shops I'd take the chance with a cheaper Blackburn
rack. I have sat on one - that's over twice the rated load - with no
    apparent ill effect.
