  1. What are the advantages of thinner tires? I currently have a hybrid with 700x40c tires. I ride to work in NYC and I ride the central park circuit. Will thinner tires give me more speed? Are they more prone to flats. What width would you recommend?

    Thanks

  2. I have a couple of mates with flat bar road bikes (hybrids), they took the wide 28mm tyres off (19mm rims) and now run 23x700 Conti Ultra Gator Skins, wow!! You will have to be more careful on loose stuff.

Your rims may be 25mm wide (outside measure), then the 23s will be too narrow, have a look at Conti Sport Contact in 28x700, they fit the wider rims. 😎
