these new valves are too complicated for me

All that screwing makes me dizzy. Get another pump.

we have one here at my parents home, which i used today since i just got home for christmas, and it was easy as could be,
my pump was made by schwinn even, so i assumed it would work atleast half decent, but it's pathetic,

I use a 12 battery powered air compressor to inflate my tires and since it has a Schraeder chuck (big valves on cars etc), I use one of those adapters. I fully unscrew the nut on the Presta valve (smaller valves used on better bicycles) and press the adapter on, giving it 2-3 turns at most. The o-ring on the aqdaptor seals fine with these few threads engaged.

I haven't tried it with a hand pump as I don't have a hand pump with Schrader chuck. I have used the adapter with service station air for road fix. It worked fine.
