  1. I'm in the process of waiting for a used frame to be delivered from an eBay
'win.' It is identical to the frame of my primary XC rig - a 1994
Specialized Rockhopper Comp FS. If the frame turns out to be utter junk,
there are still parts visible (and included) that will be worth the pittance
I paid for it. If it is in good enough shape, I'll begin gathering my other
'junk' to bring it up to complete, rideable status. This brings up some
    distinct possibilities:

    (1) Transferring some of the gear off my old Schwinn High Sierra to create a
more advanced (aheadset - shock compatible) runabout - leaving the Schwinn
to "Begin again" by gathering used parts enough to make a useful "Shop Goat"
out of it (this would be the 4th time I've done so)

    (2) Make a shop goat out of it. Leave the Schwinn alone and gather the
parts to complete it, making it the Goat.

    (3) Ditch the shock (after getting the very cool 'Lexus Style' brace off it)
and make a fully rigid SS from it (using a locked down RD as a "singleator"😉

    More to come!
