  1. Well for those that have forgotten 7 weeks ago I got helped off my bike. Which broke my clavicle
(collarbone) in 3 places. Yesterday I returned to the doctor for my 6 week visit and everything is
healing fine. But will take up to 18 months to form the complete bone at the fracture sites. So I'm
out of the sling and will have to go for Physical Therapy . Next week I return to work. I can ride
my bike as long as I don't fall on the injury and rebreak it. WOW what a risk but thats life. Not
bad for someone turning 50 in 3 months. Get out and ride your bike.

some people don't even bother letting them heal back together and leave a gap. I knew a guy who
could pinch objects between the two ends of his once continuous collar bone. IIRC the collar bone is
    a obsolete part.

I hope that you are feeling better. I got hit by a minivan recently so I know some of what you are
going through. Physiotherapy is a whole lot of fun, and seems like a lot of nothing, but it seems to
work. I am hopeful to be riding again next season when my kneck is back to better form. Don't push
yourself on the riding too much. I am looking into one of those spinning classes over the winter as
those bikes don't fall over or get hit by other vehicles. Keep myself in good shape and remember
    some of my cycling form.

Glad you're healing up OK. I'm at least an inch shorter on my left side (outside shoulder to neck)
where I busted mine up but good, and have a big knot that works great to remind me when the weather
is wet and cold, which ain't often around here.

Happy to hear you're riding again. Just take it easy on the descents, and make sure your pedals
    are loose.

Thanks for the inspiration. I'm about to turn 42, and getting back into it.
