  1. Music by Don Mclean
    Lyrics butchered by me

    A long long time ago
    I can still remember when
That cycling use to make me smile
And I knew if I got my chance
That I would buy some Lycra pant
And maybe I be happy for a while
But July 2006 made me quiver
When the Puerto Papers were delivered
    Bad news on the doorstep
The UCI was of no help
    I can’t remember if I cried
When I read about the Tours demises
But something touched me deep inside
The year that bike racing died

So bye bye to the peloton’s pride
Drove my T/E levels to the limit and I don’t even know why
And good ole boys were drinking Jack Daniels and Rye
Singing this will be the year the Tour dies
This will be the year the Tour dies

  2. Good one, J, i'll play...

    they tested me for hemocrit
as if i could really give a shat
if you trained the way i do
your levels would be elavated too
and just because i pulled away on one stage
it was done with sweat pain and rage
my lawyers will sort this one out
i'll take suspension to come back no doubt
and if i cast an untoward pall
on the efforts of those who came before et al
just remember back in the day
the way they rode and pulled away
too much blood in the blood was the only way
if i done the same what can i say

    OK, next?
