it was nice to see the americans meb keflexighi and abdirahman abdihaikem
being competitive in the men's 10,000 meters final at the world

is it fair to say Meb was "competitive" in the men's 10K final when he
dropped out of the race with 10 laps remaining with a sore right
quadriceps muscle?I'm a big Meb fan....but don't you have to be in the race in the final
stages before you can be characterized as "competitive" in the race?10 laps just strikes as an awful long way out......heck...I gotta think
many of the other runners had not yet even employed their strategy,
mounted their challenge, etc....in other words...Meb DNF'ed prior to
answering the challenges of much of the field....he's an unbelievable superstar but his early departure left a lot
unknown on how he would have faired in the final 10 laps....no? he
might not have been competitive...just as Radcliffe was not in coming
in 9th. -
