A few weeks ago me and my friend drove up to North Wales and attempted to walk up Carnedd Dafydd and Carnedd Llywelyn. There was snow on the ground and we felt reasonably confident. We were all kitted out and began our assent of Carnedd Dafydd. However we got about two thirds up and the wind was very strong. We decided to turn back, thinking better safe than sorry.

I was up on Kinder Scout a fortnight ago.There was lots of snow and the wind conditions were very similar to those you experienced,Best to use common sense & live to fight another day.
