The numbers here are really unpleasant, but this article sheds light on how much more dangerous the roads have become since the rise in popularity of cell phones.

  2. thanks for the link

I live on a pretty busy road (one of the main roads to the 59th street bridge in NYC) the other day I looked out my window to see one of those driving instructor cars with a student driver, the instructor was texting and not even watching the student driver! People need to learn to shut those things off

  3. New anti-mobile-device law went into effect today in MA.

    - No mobile device use while driving allowed by any driver under age 18

    - No sending or reading text messages or e-mail while driving by anyone

    - Drivers 18 and older must keep at least one hand firmly on the wheel while using a mobile device

    - Citations for under-18 mobile device use also result in an automatic 60-day license suspension

    - Stationary navigation devices (attached to the interior of the vehicle or permanently or factory installed) are exempt

    - Enforcement is primary (no other violation is required for a traffic stop)
