Being one of the priviledged few who grew up near that storied landmark
(actually just a tourist trap, but located in a scenic canyon), I used to
hike on the railroad tracks across the canyon from Highway 89. The tracks
were abandoned when a huge landslide cut them off in 1983. But now they
have a new lease on life:
