Have been reading everyone's comments about theremometers and have a recommendation. Quick Tip® Technology is incorporated in high performance cooking thermometers. It will provide a final reading (room temperature into boiling water in 5 seconds) and achieve accuracy of +/- 0.5 degree in the food safety range of 130-180F. They are also equipped with a patented "SelfSet" Calibration. Quick Tip are the only thermometers able to incorporate these two features.
The even better news is that they are not anymore expensive than other thermometers.
You can find them on the net by seaching "Quick Tip Thermometer"

I think that I'll just stick with my Thermopens. I *KNOW* that they work, and didn't hear about them through a SPAMMED message.
