Yes, that reply was serious. I was loading my tent with various bedding and I accidentally leant against the front pole very briefly.
No I meant about the 42 nights out. If so you must be pretty keen on camping these days. Nice one! I hope to boost my total a lot this year.

The 42 was true also. Ish. It was a guesstimation. That was the Pro- Action nights. There was also a further 100 or so in the Voyager. I worked away a great deal and I usually camped rather than go in a B&B.

Absolutely up for it. My last camping night was October 31st so I'm in withdrawel at the moment. And there's no excuse what with being unemployed right now.

It's insured anyway, and the contents cost would dwarf the excess in any case. The campsites I use and a tent that's visibly a few years old and isn't in the usual list of Hot Tickets mean that I'd sooner take what risk there is and have some porch space.

Well this is extremely short notice, but how about tomorrow? Somewhere in the Beacons. Haven't decided exactly where yet. I'm going with my nephew to test out our new sleeping bags in the cold. Somewhere near wood. Campfire obligatory. Wild but probably not far from a road, so multiple trips to the car possible if you want to bring a ton of stuff. A packet of spuds would go nicely for baking in the fire. Probably very little walking, I still haven't shaken off this cold completely so I'm not up for anything strenuous.
Looks a nice place to camp. Pity about that building behind you...

That was to give us an escape route if the tents didn't stand up to the weather, this was their first time out, It's a bothy used by walkers and climbers if they get caught out in bad weather, we slept in it the last night so we could get an early start the next morning and we wouldn't be packing wet tents if it rained.
This is where I slept inside the bothy, the bed was already in there it isn't mine.

True, but OTOH I will be able to attend Spacepacker Owner (note singular) events anywhere I particularly want... ;-)

I can see where you're coming from, but it will vary from place to place. The chances of your gear going walkies from the dunes site at Achiltibuie compared to, say, the NT Langdale site, for example, is so near nothing IMHO as not to be a concern for me. Id put a higher chance of losing stuff wild camping in the Lakes compared to a lot of Scottish public campsites, to be honest.

Necessity. See clarifying email. I'm working my way down to becoming a full time street person. Only with slightly better gear. And I'm more picky about what I'll drink. I can stomach Tennants electric soup but I prefer Shiraz.
