What a cracker it was as well!
I thought it was long enough already at 294km, now I see the organisers
have added another 2706km to spice it up ;-)
I have entered the Milan - San Remo Gran Fondo on 11th June. I am more
than a little apprehensive at riding it. My longest one-day ride to
date is 125 miles (Etape 2003) although that did have a couple of 1st
cat cols in it.
Although M-SR GF doesn't have so much climbing, I can only guess what
state I'm going to be in on the "capi" at the end of the race. My mate
tells me the descent of the Poggio is quite technical, to which I
replied I'm more concerned about reaching the top of it than getting to
the bottom!
Methinks I need to start piling the miles in fairly soon now. I still
haven't got my head around the idea of being in the saddle for 10 hours
plus.
Gulp!
