  1. Check out that bite radius!! A 12ft bull shark. I was lucky to escape with my life. Actually it was my chainring. That's the kinda' thing that happens on our Tue. night MTB ride. Its an 18 mile out and back on an abandoned rail line that was built alongside a canal, also abandoned. Anyway there just happens to be a bar at the turn-around, (go figure) and who can pass up a bar?

We were on the way back and my foot came off the pedal, good reason to put my clipless back on.

That's one of the benefits I noticed when I switched to clipless a few years ago on my MTB - no more impaled calves or raked shins from my feet bouncing off the pedals.

Of course, crashing and doing an endo downhill without being able to unclip can also be painful.

    Thanks!

That picture was taken a day and a half after the crash. By day five it was purple from my calf to the bottom of my foot. It was officially diagnosed as a high and low ankle sprain topped off with a major contusion to the shin. I just feel lucky that I didn't break anything.
