I hate to replace the chain, it is only 7 years old and in daily use. Usually I just use sandpaper and oil it down. Never had to replace a link yet. Usually keep it in Boeshield, but this Spring it got nailed in rain and went totally rust color. A neighbor thought he'd do me a big favor and used his Powered Jet Washer with really HOT water to clean the bent. Well apart from ripping off the enamel, it left the chain without any wax and when the Acid Rains came...it went dark rust color/ The chain goes in the garbage in a couple of months anyway (reason I said I don't want to replace it)...figured it had a few hundred miles left on it. Most of my chains last 6-8 years when kept waxed in winter and Tri-Flo with Teflon in Summer.
