What a shocker last night. Thanks for the heads up Aeek, otherwise I might have taken another hour to get home! All's well until I get to Parliament (Capital Circle) where I picked up a freakin nail as I came out of the tunnel. Bugger! Two spare tubes and patch kits so no panic. Lighting not very good there so it takes me a good 15 mins to detach my attachments (ooh!) replace the tube, reattach everything and get back on the bike. Low and behold my spare is flat! Bugger! Repeat the above. I'm only in my knicks and two jerseys and the temp is dropping. Another 15 mins changing tubes (detaching and reattaching lights etc.). Then I lose a few things in the dark and take even longer to get going. In the meantime, five other bikes go past and not one asks if I need help. I didn't need help but it would have been nice to see if anyone else cared! (sob). I always ask if someone has stopped... is it just me??! Anyway, phone home to say I'm not under a car or anything (eldest son is waiting for his bedtime stories etc. and is late for bed). Have to get going, so take off into the cold. Temp must be getting near zilch as I head off and I'm not getting any warmer. I get to Deakin and recall a warning Aeek gave me about the Cotter exit (glass and debris everywhere), so go slow. Another puncture now and I'm in for hypothermia! Luckily manage to avoid any additional punctures. Phew! Just passing the mint I get a gush of cold air dropping off Red Hill (usually colder along this strip in the evening, even in summer) and I find myself screaming "F$ck that's cold!" at the top of my lungs. Finally make it home about 1.5 hours after leaving work (which I did late last night... so not happy!). Many thanks for the warning Aeek, you saved me from frostbite! BTW Aeek, I saw the aftermath of the bingle at the Cotter exit the night before (I should therefore have warned you!). It held up traffic on Adelaide all the way back to Parliament. I, for one, always stop - or at least slow down, & ask if the rider needs
help. And any time I've punctured, someone (sometimes even a cager) has
stopped & asked me if I need help. But then I'm in QLD 🙂

Yeah... CBR is full of self absorbed people except for me and a couple
of others :-)
I once stopped and helped a girl just outside The Lodge. I ended up
replacing a tube for her, for which she was extremely grateful. It just
so happened that her hubby was driving by in his car and he stopped as
well. We had a good old chin-wag. I don't think the security guys at
The Lodge were too happy though!

No prob, noticed it again this morning when I was in the middle of it.
Fortunately Conti Contacts(plug) are basically glass proof.
That nail would have got me though, thanks for clearing it.

One reason I enjoy Barry Drive so much, their conjestion 🙂
I like to do a little count on these occasions and see how many more
people there are than cars. Usually it's only 1 or 2 more people than
cars over about 100!
Not on the pushy today. Too wet and I can't be stuffed cleaning the
drive train afterwards! Slack-[censored]!
