Just seeing how long it takes this message to show up on AOL's news server. It
was 6:49 PM when I pressed the send button.

Clearly, you need to tell us what time zone you are in. According to
your message, it appeared on Google three hours before you actually
sent it. ;-)
(it appeared on my Google server at 3:50 PM, Pacific Time)About AOL's news server, we'll see. It is quite unreliable. Some
never appear. I opened an address with a second name, as AOL allows
you to do. It regularly shows 3 or 4 times as many postings as my
"nancree" address. (Just now I had 6 postings showing on my first
account---24 on my second.) Such a bother.

(it appeared on my Google server at 3:50 PM, Pacific Time)I'm in the Eastern time zone. Here's something strange. Your reply showed up
on the AOL news server but my original message hasn't. When I click on "show
all messages" it shows your reply but not my original message. -

NancreeNormally AOL's news server does an okay job but it's been terrible for about
the past 3 weeks or more. There are some newsgroups where I should normally
have to click on the "more" button several times in order to see all the new
messages, even if I visit those newsgroups more than once a day. This isn't
happening now. The message count is way off too. One newsgroup might say
there are 500 unread messages and less than half of them actually show up. I'm
having to go to Google in order to read all the messages.
