  1. So, I have this chronic tendonitis of some sort, obviously...plantar fasciitis, or something like
that...just always have had it, for years, apparently. And, it manifests itself in my toes, so that
the tendons in my toes are just all messed up. I have just recently understood that it is all tied
into that tendon in my arch, and when I roll my foot on a tennis ball, oh yeah, it hurts so good, I
think...in that the tennis ball just really gets in there to the root of the problem. I could almost
howl when that tennis ball gets into a certain groove, and when I continue to roll, it just really
screams "YEAH, you idiot, this is what's WRONG with you!" (not ever having doctor tell me that was
my problem). But, the question, after all this is this: am I doing harm to the tendon (as in
whatever tendon there is that is the plantar fasciitis tendon when I roll my tennis ball in the
arch, into the groove where it hurts like this...or, am I loosening something up, and thus, what I
am doing is GOOD for it? Anyone? Thanks!

  2. I used a golf ball which seemed to help the discomort and it finally cleared up. I also took an
empty two liter coke bottle, filled it with water and froze it, I would roll my foot over that for a
few minutes and stick it back in the freezer, that also seemed to make it feel better. Tennis ball,
golf ball, coke bottle, whatever works. I would probably shy away from baseballs though, you know
the Kobe Bryant thing and all that.

  3. In Marine Corps boot camp I suffered a stress fracture in my left foot which, eventually, turned
into plantar fasciitis. The Navy Corpsmen (physical therapists) that were my docs at the time gave
me the same advice about using a ball to roll my foot over. It does work, but you just have to give
it a little time. They also made us ice the area as well for about fifteen minutes at a time a
    couple times a day.
