If you were Dutch you'd show up three days ahead of the race
with a camper van loaded with beer. You'd bring a sound
system powerful enough that a seismologist on another
continent would know when you turned it on. You'd bring lots
of paint and splash the names of your favorite riders all
over the road, along with a penis or two.

But here in the US we just pack a picnic lunch and maybe a
cowbell to ring as the riders go by. You might want to hang
out in Dalton before the stage start to see if you can get
some autographs.

I think that is only done by Leipheimer's wife, and then
that isn't here in the US. But then maybe I only notice pom
poms when they get stuck in somebody's wheel.

No hablo espanol. Some of the international riders will feel
quite at home in Dalton. Spanish is the primary language of
the city. There will probibly be a good turn out there.

How far in advance are roads closed for races? I would like
to go to Dalton and then drive up 52A to find a spot, but if
they close well in advance I will have to take a really
round about way to get there.
