TdF query: helmets??

At last years Tour, it was compulsory for all riders to wear a helmet at all times, except when the stage had a summit finish on a climb that was at least 5 km long. At the start of such a climb, riders would hand their helmets to their managers driving their team cars, or team helpers at the roadside.

That of course, made for a certain amount of chaos, and so this season riders must wear a helmet in all professional races, at all times.

Yes, i found trying to 'hand my helmet to my team manager' in the last stages of Cgrade VERY chaotic 😄

It's not about a helmet, but I flatted in a race last year only about 1km before the spot where I had parked the car. Naturally I was spewing because I normally keep spare wheels in the boot... doh!

I tried to convince the missus to follow me around in the car as a team car, it was working well too, until the incessant beeping almost gave an old lady a heart attack as she was walking her Maltese terrier. 🙂
