Just as Merckx was the last for Belgium. Hinault for France, and Indurain
for Spain. 5 time winners, doom their country to obscurity after they
leave. After Lance, there will be no American champions for maybe a
century. Look to eastern europe for the future champions of the tour de
    france.

    That is not true anymore!

Thanks to the advances in modern genetic science, DNA samples have

been obtained from Lance. This new cellular material has been grown

in large amounts and mixed into a refreshing orange drink especially

for consumption by bicycle racing enthusiasts.

The drink is labeled ELA for "Elixir of Lance Armstrong", and is boldly

decorated with labels of former companies that used to support Lance.

A perfect balance of electrolytes and proteins, a must have, winning

combination for the Tour De France. Instead of Lance Armstrong

just fading away, he will continue to race with anyone who purchases

ELA, only $39.99 per 3 oz bottle. You can Help. Reserve your case

of ELA now! For those that prefer an Injectable form, ELA is also

    available in disposable 3cc syringes.

    Orange juice is dangerous.

  3. Used under a trained physician's supervision, orange juice is no more
    dangerous than EPO.

What are you talking about? Eddy Merckx won his final Tour de
France in 1974. However, in 1976, Lucien van Impe won the TdF. Van
    Impe also is Belgian

    1974 Merckx, Eddy, 29
    116hr 16min 58sec Belgium,Molteni

    1976 van Impe, Lucien, 29
    116hr 22min 23sec Belgium, Gitane

You conveniently omit the 1st 5-Time winner of the TdF: Jaques
    Anquetil.
Anquetil won his 5th Tour in 1964, and it only took 2 years before
another Frenchman, Lucien Aimar, won the 1966 TdF. Then Roger Pingeon,
who was also French, won the next year....

    1966 Aimar, Lucien, 25
    117hr 34min 21sec France, Ford

    1967 Pingeon, Roger, 27
    136hr 53min 50sec France, France

After Anquitil's 5th vicotry, France managed to be represented by such
winning cyclists as: Lucien Aimar , Roger Pingeon, Bernard Thevenet (2
victories), Bernard Hinault (5), and Laurent Fignon (2).

That amounts to 11 TdF victories in the past 40 years. Hardly
indicative of a "5 Time TdF Winner Jinx".

Moreover, Armstrong has already broken the 5 time winner juinx, by
winning the Tour for a record 6th time...
