  1. When was the last time that the final stage of the TDF was actually raced out for the general classification victory?

  2. 89, lemond overtook fignon for first place. Of course the last stage was an itt that year.. Last year vino overtook leipheimer for 5th on gc by winning time bonuses along the way and at the finish.

    Two or three years ago, when he was only a few seconds behind after the final TT, Ullrich wrote in his fan diary that it would be fair for him to attack Armstrong in the final stage if it was a true tactic - and said it would be fair for Armstrong to do the same. But nothing happened.
