    just for comparison- in 2003 vinokourov finished 4:14 behind lance. this
    year basso finished 4:40 behind lance. however, i will give you that
    he's getting "old" and may be on the down side of his career.

    and just for fun/curiosity i made up a list of his major wins in the
    last 3 years. he's quite a good bike racer, imo-
    liege bastogne liege
    amstel gold
    tour de suisse
    paris nice
    kazakh rr championship
    3 stages tdf
    1 stage tds
    1 stage dauphine libere
    combativity competition tdf
    points competition tds
    a 3rd overall tdf and a 3rd in the world tt championships
