Hi, I have a tandem with a tag a long on it which my two boys (7 and 9) and I use when we cycle from our home in Carlingford to Olympic Park and back. It is great fun and not too taxing a ride.
I know a tandem club once existed but is presently in remission, this was based in Melbourne but seemed to address all of Oz. Is there any forum in Sydney for tandem enthusiasts?
Just got back from an OS cycletour on our tandem. Yes there used to be a tandem club but it sort of died. We meet up with up to 20 tandems when we do the BNSW ride but other than that we all tend to do our own thing as everyone either lives a fair distance away or has very different abilities. Pehaps it is time that something was organised again so we could have some tandem get togethers. I think its just a matter of someone getting off their butt and doing something about it. We are keen. Now that we are back we are trying not to lose the fitness we gained climbing all those hills by trying to get fit for the Around the Bay in a Day ride.

Any other tandems lurking out there in Sydney??

I am all for it. I would love to hear about your OS cycling tour, it is becomming a bit of a narling wish of my own. I am trying to get a group going on Yahoo at http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/sydneytandems join up and lets see if we can start something. I intend to do the Big Ride next year and as many of the local rides leading up to it as possible. Cheers, Ken
