  1. Yurly Krivtsov is away on a break until

    16:38 CEST    97km/30km to go
Krivtsov has been caught as the bunch hits 30km to go.
Immediately the bunch slows down a little and spreads
across the road. Basso sits just behind a teammate who in
turn sits on the Quick Step train.

I would feel, "They caught me, now they slow down. I'm
going to attack again. It's mostly flat to the finish.
Give them something to do. If they want me in the bunch,
    they can work for it."

Question is, how does the bunch deal with it, how do they
    feel?

One of the reasons that they typically try not to catch the breakaway
till right before the finish is that they don't want to have to deal
with more breakaways that might go away after they just catch one. At
30 km out there's a huge probability that someone will try to take
advantage of the lull and launch an attack. Depending on how the day's
gone up to that point, they may just let it go for a few km then chase
it down, or they may get really perturbed at the instigator(s).
Chiapucci was reviled for attacking at the silliest moments when the
field didn't really want to ride hard, and he didn't really have much
chance of succeeding anyway. But, they couldn't just let him go, so
chase they did. From what I recall reading of his exploits, his fellow
racers thought he was daring, but irritating.

If you just broke away with 60kmh, then going in front of the pack with
about 55kmh you are not able just to do that again^^. You need a few
minutes to get your second wind and by that time the sprint has
    started.

They would love it as you wouldn't get away very far :P
