I'm planning to ride from Sydney to Jindy in the next couple of weeks. I'll be on an OCR2 road bike and the plan is to travel very light with only a small backpack, 4 water bottles and some cash. I'll be staying in motels and eating at diners (anything other than Macas really) and carrying only emergency food.
I'm sure there are others out there who have some experience with this. Any pointers or things i should be aware of?
I could probably do the trip in two days but will stretch it to 3 (Syd 2 Goulburn, Goulburn 2 Canberra, Canberra 2 Jindy).
I'm planning on carrying the following :-
3 spare tubes and puncher kit Tools T-shirt & shorts Thongs Suntan lotion Mobile
Visibility gear & lights, in case you need to ride into the night.
Other than that, enjoy. 🙂
Yep should have added that. I'm planning on starting early each day so lights and High vis gear will be essential. Also some warmer gear and a shell jacket.
Just take the one tshirt. Tshirts take to long to dry and if you ride in them when you stop you can get a chill. If you are travelling lite then use one pr of knicks and a road shirt and wash them at the motel when you have a shower. Should be dry or nearly so for the next day. Shampoo makes a good detergent for clothes washing. Try to get a rack that fits on the seatpost and put your bag there rather than carring it on your back.
