Hi Folks,
Yesterday I went along to the Camping show at Rosehill
Racecourse and enjoyed it totally with possibly the
exception that they didn't have much in the way for
micro-camping.
Microcamping in my understanding is when you go out hiking
or biking/touring that you are self sufficient in your
accommodation and meals and can stop anywhere you
wish(within reason) to put the head down for the night.
I kind of went there with the purpose to see what i could
find in the way of micro-camping goods for the light single
camper and found relatively little although I did buy a Team
waterproof rain jacket that folds into itself for $64 down
from $79. I was happy with that.
Yes there were lots of great ideas for the 4WD set and their
mega-campers all the way up to the Luxo-campers, lots of
fridges, generators etc but not much in the way of the
singleminded camper who likes to travel light, with the
exception of Boots & Kangaroo City who had some smallish
hiking gear.
It would be good to see more of the stuff that hikers and
touring cyclists could use.I'm not complaining mind you, as
I had a good time and picked up a few bush tips but it'd be
good to see more for the micro-camper.
Did anyone else go there? would be interested to know what
others thought.
Regards
DJ
