  1. Anyone ever use or see something called a "whip" it attaches around
your waist and then attaches to a fixed object on the outside of the
pool, so essentially, you're swimming in place - My pool is too shallow
at one end to swim effectively and was thinking about one of these /
another type of advice - once the weather gets cooler (I'm in New
England) I'm planning on hitting the "Y" a couple of days a week

    Thanks in advance

I know $6k is a lot, but i fI had a backyard pool already I would be
lusting over Endless Pools new "Fastlane" product.

Since I don't already have a backyard pool it is a little easier to not
lust after the $20k Endless Pool ;-)

As for the old school method, I never heard of it called a "whip", but
tethered. Check on-line catalogs -- it is basicaly a bungee cord. They
have fancier ones to avoid tangling in your legs.

There is a REALLY excellent page on wikipedia about this which lists
the various options, called Resistance swimming.
