If i were to install one of those suspension seat posts on my Trek 4900 will that chance anything in the way the bike behaves ?,if they are ok how much do they cost and are there any brands to look for ?

It will only change the way the bike feels, not the performance of it currently. You will only get an inch or so of movement from one (enough to take the "edge" off some bumps). I have heard OK things about USE suspension posts. Find someone using a suspension post in your area and talk to them about it. They will probably love to share their thoughts. Good luck!
