I have nearly finished building a swb recumbent based on a 20" wheel mtb. This was to suit a child about 8 years old, the front forks are a little soft (probably made to suit a childs weight) is there any way to stiffen them up a bit by stripping them down and replacing or packing the springs.

Someone might have the info you need, but you have to tell us the kind of fork you have. You might also see if the mfr has a web site with some technical info and a spring kit.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately it just appears to be a cheap run of the mill suspension fork. I will have to get a long socket extension bar to split them and have a look.
later
