A colleague at work sent me the following, it might be of interest to
some in or around Edinburgh.

In case there's anyone around the Gifford area on Saturday (1st March)
then look out for 320 shaved legs going round at high-speed. It's the
first round of what's called the Super6, a cycling road-race series run
by Scottish Cycling.
This is the first year it's being run, and the first race in the series
is being organised by Edinburgh Road Club <http://www.edinburghrc.co.uk/>
There are two races on the same day, an A and a B race.
The A race will contain pretty much all of Scotland's top road riders,
including some guys who've raced for the country at the Commonwealth
Games. It'll also feature Paul Rowney who's been out training on the ERC
Wednesday night chain-gang, causing everyone else's HR monitors to melt
under the strain. He's been Australian national mountain bike champion
a number of times and took 10th place at the Olympics.
If you've got nothing better to do then come along and watch the racing
-- it'll be passing through the centre of Gifford repeatedly so you'll
get a chance to see the race develop.
Besides all that, there's a free(!) BBQ for spectators. Here's a quick
