My Zimmer frame has only 2 wheels & a Rohloff 14 gear hub, and I was out for 3
hours this morning starting at 0700 hrs and had a v nice 30 miles under my
Zimmer wheels. I may not latch up more than about 25 mph max (my Zimmer frame
is geared down for full camping load touring) but I pootle along -- with 3
water bottles -- 2 with water and 1 with a little light Mosel -- to keep my
teeth feeling fresh ( who thought of that!
It really is time you 40 yr olds realised that 70 isn't old these days. I may
be in receipt of my pensions but I am out on my "Zimmer frame" every day --
and with the current spell of fine weather an early start is good before these
unusual Easterly winds blow up!
(By the way my 100 year old dad still uses his "bike exerciser machine" for
about 10 minutes every day -- he terrifies me -- but just wait till I make
100!)
As you will see on my website I am just 31 days away from my annual camping
tour of Europe -- France this year - rivers Yonne, Saone and Rhone to Avignon
and then west to Narbonne -- with a few days unloaded in the Massif Central
and several days visiting some of the home of my favourite red wines ( and a
few whites too!)
