I'm looking for a beater bike I can throw racks on for running to the store, and setup for fishing and hunting. I was looking at the Trek SU200, saw it in a shop the other day, and thought it was perfect. I like the idea of discs for stopping under load, MTB gearing and 26" wheels. Retail seems to be under $500, and I was thinking I'd likely upgrade the derailers and maybe the shifters.
Thoughts on the SU200, or any other similar bikes (rigid, rack compatible, etc) that might make the grade?
