  1. McGrory is still injured, Sassone is still in Jail so they won't be starting.

    But Jean-Pierre Van Zyl is joining up with Belgian Gilmore and American Nothstein and Steven de Neef
    will be helping out his Dutch neighbours, Slippens and Stam.

    Remember a few years back when the French were blaming their lack of success in the Tour on the
    "Racing at Two Speeds" hypothesis? And how some here in the august forum noted that that didn't seem
    to apply to the excellent French track squad?

    The Sassone situation is a source of irony for me.
