How about posting those "terrible things" you alleged that I have done? Nameless and faceless
    chicken****.

Boofreakinhoo. Grow-up and be a father/positive role model.

So, what can some anonymous USENET tough guy offer as advice? Gotta get your digs in, huh? Geez,
man, just get over yourself already.

In his defense, "ireman" wasn't the one getting "his digs in". We were just talking about snow and
rain, that's all. JD was getting HIS digs in.

But that has to do with being a father, of course - that was just a cheap shot (and not a very
    "positive role model"😉.

Personally, I kind of liked the "boofreakinhoo" response, but its too bad he didn't just leave it at
that. Everybody's gotta aim low, I guess. :-)

True enough...EXCEPT that this "ire" person made vague accusations against JD, and then when
challenged to back them up (or even just be specific) pulled the lame "let's just move on" card.

    It doesn't work that way.

Yeah, he was just ASKING for it by talking about the weather in Oregon!

Well, usually it does. Go into any thread and start harping about something that someone posted in a
completely different thread. See how apologetic they get (or not). Granted, ireman hit back with a
low blow (I never claimed he didn't), but its not like he was taking the first shot. Doesn't
"getting your digs in" mean that it was something unprovoked?

    Arrrgh!

Doesn't Mother Nature know that she's not supposed to start the snow until *I"M* finished with
    riding for the season???

And it happened just a couple of days before a BBQ/Night Ride. I wasn't gonna ride, just enjoy the
BBQ, but still... the indignity of it all. I was hoping that maybe I'd be able to scrounge up a
buddy to go on some tame'ish night rides next year. After all, what better place to meet people
that are interested in night riding than at an actual night ride. I wonder if anybody will
actually even bother to show up, given the snow that is...

Now I'm left with cleaning my hydration packs (does that "green tint" *EVER* really leave the
drinking tube) and doing some clean-up on the bikes and gear. You know, wash gloves, check the
helmet pads (mine are new this year), find the missing socks...etc.

Oh yeah, seeing as how it snowed I guess I might as well start on my "wish list" for Santa.

The one positive thing that I did was take a dozen donuts in to the gang at the lbs. They've been
good to me over the summer/fall.

If only riding wasn't over for the season...

    WWWHHHHAAAAAAAaaaaaaaa...<sob>...

My suggestion is to strap those boots on, get over to the trail, and throw a full-blown hissyfit for
the length of it. Crying, stomping your feet, wailing, whinging, pumping your fists at the sky.

    Welcome back, Rog.

Not that we are in junior high any more or anything, but sure I'll meet you behind the bleachers. I'm in Seattle this weekend for a couple of days (leaving Monday, there's time for some fun). I'm sure you could "meet me half-way" as they say "if" you are truly wanting to put me in my place. We'll be at the Sheraton Towers, stop on by. Give me a number stud: [email hidden], but be quick. I'll be on the road tomorrow morning and won't be able to check the email until I return.

Pointing out that JD is a not what a father should be is not a dig. It's an example of what he was crying about.

Until he/she/it ireman-child backs up their silly claims, they can expect it in any thread.
Since when is it a rarity for a thread to get derailed in am-b? Tell us you never derailed a

I don't want or expect an apology from a punk like that. I expect them to back up their claim. It's
just like asking barry bargain to back up his ignorant and outlandish claims. It'll probably never
happen, but at least barry bargain knows when to go.

It's not about the "first shot". It's about backing up false claims. They only added to their image
by showing how much more of a scumbag they can be when nobody knows who they are.

Guilty as charged! Though I try to keep it SOMEWHAT related to the previous discussion, even if its
no longer completely within the context of the subject (e.g. discussing wet trails in a thread
    about snow).

Maybe your derailling this thread was one of those "horrible things" he was talking about. It was
just horrible, horrible. Maybe not horrible in the context of the bigger picture like wildfires,
world hunger, or tomorrow's weather forecast, but horrible nonetheless. :-)

I'll probably regret wasting the time and bandwidth on you, but you really should get some help with
    this obsession.

If you think it is bothering him to call him a bad dad, all he has to do is consider the source and
get past it. If JD's insulted you or your bike, or whatever, then you need to get past it. If you've
got a personal grievance with him, then deal with it. Using the news group to shout your juvenile
insults in public doesn't put him down as much as reveal who you really are.

Now, it is not ass-kissing to testify from personal experience as to how great a dad he is, and
what a great job he's doing raising his daughter, from having JD & his daughter stay with my
family at our home, the cabin, and other places, and having several extended opportunities to
    observe him with her.

So, for all our sakes, please work it out or get help, OK? Call Dr. Laura, go on Oprah, check
yourself into Bellevue, whatever it takes. You'll be glad you did. Maybe then you can begin living
for yourself, and not obsessing over a person you don't even really know. I'm sure you have the
capability of being a great person yourself, once you let go of this tormenting hatred.

    Hope this helps.
