Has anyone any idea what I can do to repair the damage done by overtightening one of the bolts holding the plate on to the bottom of my shoes.
They're only cheap ones... which is probably why the thread in the plate went, not on the bolt... but I've only done about 500 miles and got the plates into the proper place ):

Depends what type. If they are SPD I think you get spare shoe inserts with the cleats, although that may only be with the copy cleats. If Look/Time, try removing the shoe liner and drilling a countersunk screw from the inside then put a narrow nut on the outside, you will have to put it in that way or the nut will protrude I think. Or else try putting a nut between the shoe and the cleat?
