Stiff rear shifting

Did you lube your shifters? Also if you have a bare cable running under your bottom bracket, clean
and lube that area as well.

will help you know if you have done them correctly.
I suggest you detach the rear derailer cable at the rear derailer temporarily and see what the feeling is as you " flex" the rear derailer through it's range of motion; and as you shift up and down while tensioning the cable with your hand. If there is friction in the housing/cable interface you may be able to see which section of housing seems to move. It may be, as another poster suggested, time for servicing your shifter.
