I am just trying to figure out if my stem (+ or - 7 degrees, Bontrager, 100mm) should be flipped upwards or downwards.
What is the difference and impact? Is it just the bar height that goes down (about 24mm?) when my stem is facing down -7 degrees i.e. when I am riding on the tops I lean lower or does it also affect the height of the riding in the hoods and drops too?
As I see it I can flip the stem downwards -7 and hence lower the height of the bar tops by 24mm but I can (or should?) at the same time twist the handle-bars a bit upwards (to point the drops towards the rear brake callipers?) to compensate for the lowering of the hoods/drops, right? Is this thinking incorrect? Will this still lower the hoods/drops?
