Yes, a threadless steel steer tube can be threaded, but it's
a bit tricky and should be done with care by a shop that's
properly equipped. That's probably your best bet. In this
area, it generally costs about $25 per inch to have one
threaded. I don't know if Marzocchi makes replacement crowns
with threaded steerers available, but you might want to
check with them about that possibility before threading your
existing tube.

First, some quick questions. Is this 1 inch or 1-1/8"?
Second, is the steerer assembly removable from the fork? (I
know some Marzocchi used to be that way)

Yes, you probably can thread an unthreaded steerer (I have
been through the process) but it's very difficult using a
die and fairly complicated if you have to do it by machining
(and may not be possible if the piece can't be held
conveniently). So I would recommend not doing it.

The only adapters that I have ever seen are for going the
other way, using threadless stems in threaded steerers. But
if you can find a way to anchor the headset securely the
quill stem will certainly fit into the steerer tube (after
removing the nut or whatever else might be in there to
anchor a threadless headset).
