Fortunately, the incidence of severe side-effects from
statins is remarkably small, but anyone who experiences any
side effect from any drug should talk to their doctor as
soon as possible (rather than wait years).

Anyone who would make such a dismissive statement should e-
mail Karla Peterson and ask her--why did she and Doug wait
    several years?

Did you read the article or just open your mouth and vomit?

Doug and Karla told their doctors many times, and saw
neurologists and other specialists. No one thought it was
a statin. They didn't know. Neither they nor their
    doctors knew.

Today, you, the beneficiary of volumes of information,
    don't know.

Here are you, exhibiting all the symptoms of dysfunctional
dopamine and seratonin levels very likely caused by the
statin you are taking, FULLY INFORMED ABOUT WHAT YOUR DRUG
CAN DO and yet you stoop to ridicule those with lives so
    devastated.

E-mail Karla. Ask to speak to her children.

Stand in front of the mirror tonight when you take your
    pravastatin.

Look long and hard at a lucky man.

And if you can't say anything humane about people without
your luck, have the decency to shut up.

Oh, BTW, I stopped taking pravastatin in November 2003. So
    much for your theory.

I beg your pardon. Are you now moderating this newsgroup?

I think talkback responded to you a while back when he
questioned some of your inane posts. I will hold back from
saying what I really feel about this one.

    For those just joining us....

I (once again) acknowledge the terrible tragedy that has
befallan some apparently from the use of statins. I feel
for them and their families. However, it is an extremely
small percentage of overall statin users that suffer these
severe side-effects and, as we know, no drug is without
side-effects. This should not dissuade others who could
benefit greatly from taking a statin (as hundreds of
    studies have shown).
