I love to eat fish. Somedays I eat tuna for lunch and dinner. I eat fish
like most guys that lift eat chicken. Anyway, more and more people
are starting to bug me about what they say is pollution
that gets into the fish(mercury, lead, etc). Anyway, all
the grief people are giving me is starting to reach
a critical mass. Are these concerns legitimate?
Should I stop eating so much fish?

They recommend no more than 2 servings per week of fish.

I would guess that farmed catfish and tilapia would not have as much
contamination from industrial pollutants since they are in a controlled
setting. If anyone out there has any comments on this I would be
interested in hearing them.

Should you be taking showers?
Should you be breathing the air?

If you are worried, pay for heavy metals lab test.

Our entire damned environment is so full of pollution, there is no
escape so I've quit worrying about it. :p

The farthest I go is to purchase organic veggies when I can get (and
afford) them, not because they are lower in polluted elements, but
because I believe they are a little higher in nutrition. I also like
free range poultry as I've found it's a bit richer in flavor. And when I
can afford it, I purchase free range beef for the same reason.

Just my 2 cents.

I believe this was discussed at length within the past year. You might try
a Google and see what you find.

The concentrations get worse as you go up the food chain, so sardines might be
safer than, say, tuna.

I found phony naked pictures of Shania. Maybe I need to try a different
Google search term.

Strangely, it is the other way around. Another issue is "essential
fats" that aren't produced by the fish: they're as "essential" for
fish as they are for us. So the EFA concentration in fish would depend
on their diet.

Indeed, imagine farm raised fish being more toxic than wild ones?
Amazing.

i love sardines. i get 'em cheap at one of the asian grocers in my
area. they are an "oily" fish and have a higher EFA content. not to
mention to wonderful proteoglycans...

i would pick sardines over tuna anyday.
