  1. Hello everyone,

I have always been a massive fan of cycling, have done mountain biking on and off in the past few years but have become bored of it. Recently my friend purchased a road bike and have been inspired to get on the road and get cycling after being away from it for a while. I purchased by bike recently for £300.

I have had a few rides on my new road bike and really enjoying time in the saddle. However, I would like to have a proper routine, to improve my speed, endurance etc. I'm 20 years old, my fitness isn't the worse have did a considerable amount of running in the past and playing football (soccer) for a youth group.

So basically, how often should i ride? how far? Join a cycling club if taking wanting to take it more seriously? Nutrition and diet?

Any help at all guys will be greatly appreciated. Anything to help me improve, i love cycling on the roads!

    Thanks,

    Andy.

  2. Ride as often as you want and as far as you want. Are you training for an event? Join a cycling club. Most cycling clubs have novice events and the more experienced riders are usually very willing to help the less experienced.
