  1. After a long break from mountain bike racing. I used to race in the Elite class and am now 30 and I have decided to start back again. I have stayed fairly active while not racing. I lifted weights 3x per week and run or swim twice per week. I've been putting in some good hours on the bike for the last 2 months and have a race coming up in a week. Since I've started training so late, what should my training be like for the year, more long easier rides or more interval style workouts? Thanks

  2. Welcome to the forum. After reading your post you are obviously not old or lazy, and your racing history indicates you know what type of training it takes to become competitive, so just mix it up. 🙂

  3. I used to train kind of stupidly. I just rode for hours and never really changed intensities. I know that is an incorrect way of training now, and was mostly wondering about interval training. Should I be doing it this early and if so what kinds of intervals? My races will be about 2hrs long .
