i am also having problem downloading from my powercontrol v1 unit - it was working fine until last weekend now when i try to download it says it does not recognize hardware. i have tried downloading the software to another computer but get the same result. i am using the red 12" download usb cable. the unit seems to be working fine on the bike and records the data but i just can't download it --- any help would be appreciated.

I emailed SRM and never got a response so I wouldn't count on them helping. I use training peaks and they recommened I go through and change the COM until I found the right one, namely the one that would download. I did this and now I am able to download. If this works make sure you always use the same COM with that power control unit. I hope this helps.
