Got my bike from LBS last year. Decided to clean the chain (about time ...). It looks like the chain was installed without quick link. Is it OK? Can I just break it at any link and then reconnect using the original pin or should I remove one link and install the quick link instead?

One assumes aa correct pin was used? I'd find the connecting pin, break it there and install a link. DON'T break at connecting pin and use original pin.
