Maybe someone out there has a suggestion to this problem. I have a weird squeak that is coming from my front wheel. It is an American Classic CR-420 type. I purchased these new about 3 months ago for my new bike build. Some of the symptons to help you include:
1. It doesn't squeak when the wheel is rotated on the bike stand. 2. It is repeatable. By this I mean, I can replace this wheel with a MAVIC from my other bike and no squeak. I re-install the American Classic and the squeak returns. 3. When moving, if I stop pedaling, the squeak continues. 4. Wheel appears true to the naked eye and the spokes all feel and sound the same if plucked. 5. The squeak is periodic. It is not constant but tracks rotation of the wheel. One chirp per rotation. The frequency of the chirp is proportional to the speed of the bike.
I removed the skewer and it looks fine. I intend to call American classis on Monday but would like to know if anyone out there can recommend something to try.

Something is moving to cause the vibration. There are a few potential items I would check: 1. Spoke movement at rim. If the spoke is moving it may be possible to minimize the movement with additional tension. Remember to lubricate the thread areas and the nipple to rim interface areas. Some settling happens that shoud have/could have been resolved during the build. The settling results in the spokes loosing tension and moving during the load/unload cycle. 2. Rim joint movement. This one can often be resolved be making the rim joint hold with a strong glue applied in the area. You should ask American Classic about their experience.
