I was in the rare position of being left at home to my own devices for a whole weekend. As well as getting a couple of short rides in I decided to give our touring bikes a proper spring clean.
It took much longer than I expected but the result is well worth it. I'm sure that removing all the mud and cleaning and lubricating the chain and gear mechs has given me another 2mph.
The other good news is that when we meet out friends on Thursday for our Easter tour I won't be embarrassed at the state of the bikes.
