  1. Ok, I'm confused. Is sports and deep tissue the same type of massage? Or, is sports massage a type
of deep tissue, or what's the difference?

    Thanks, Mish

"Deep tissue" is a specific technique that works on muscles well below the surface. "Sports massage"
is a broader field, intended mostly for athletes.

Sports massage would probably involve some deep tissue work, but deep tissue is not restricted to
    folks getting a sports massage.

I came up here for a party, and what happens? Nothing! Not even ice cream. The gods looked down and
laughed. This would be a better world for children if the parents had to eat the spinach.

    Hi Mish,

Sports and Deep Tissue massage are not the same thing. Sports massage is used in Pre-event, Intra-
event and Post-event massage. The Pre and Intra massages are not done deeply and are used to
stimulate, increase circulation, loosen tighten tissue before and inbetween activities. There is a
lot of quick rocking and shaking done with the first two massages tyes, helpling the athlete stay
loose and focused on there event. Post event is more recovery work and is a little deeper, and a
    slower pace.

Deep Tissue is used while in training, not the day of a activity, or for a non athlete. The work is
slower and is used to break down adhesions, scar tissue and chronic muscle tightness.

    I hope this helps.

    Mike
